The Lost Lake Trail

The Lost Lake trail is one of many hiking opportunities in the Seward area.  The trail-head is located a short distance from Seward at mile 5 of the Seward Highway.  The trail is 7.3 miles, with a total elevation change of 2,000 feet, ending at the junction of the Primrose Trail on the east side of Lost Lake.

Starting in Spruce forests you will ascend into open meadows that offer magnificent views of mountains, as well as Resurrection Bay.

This trail should be considered moderate in difficulty with some steep inclines and uneven terrain.  As with any trip to the Alaskan wilderness, you should be prepared for quickly changing conditions and wildlife.
